Abstract:In order to explore the airworthiness compliance verification method applicable to China's turbofan engines, according to
the airworthiness compliance verification requirements of bird ingestion, combined with the development of turbofan engines, focusing on
the medium bird additional integrity assessment requirements, the test system requirements were put forward including test engine, test
bed, special equipment for bird ingestion test, instrumentation scheme and so on. The specific test methods were proposed covering fan
blade identification, bird launch system layout, bird projection parameter calibration, and bird (projectile) preparation, etc. The test
parameters are established from the aspects of bird mass, projection position, projection speed, test conditions, and test procedure. Accord?
ing to the established compliance verification method, the test verification of a turbofan engine was completed within an open-air test bed,
and the exploration and practice of turbofan engine bird ingestion airworthiness compliance method in China was carried out. The results
show that the engine thrust loss was 2% after the bird (projectile) with a mass of 0.71 kg was fired into an area at a blade span height of
70% with a speed of 99 m/s, which verifies the ability of stable operation of the turbofan engine after bird ingestion, and lays the foundation
for subsequent turbofan engine bird ingestion airworthiness compliance research and verification. |
