Abstract:In order to measure the throat area of aeroengine turbine Nozzle Guide Vanes (NGVs) accurately and efficiently, a calcula? tion method for throat area based on 3D spatial plane scanning was proposed. The throat area of duplex, quadruplex, and full-ring NGVs were measured and calculated, and their differences with the design values and the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) measurement results were analyzed and compared, respectively. The results show that the throat area errors of the non-contact laser measurement do not increase proportionally with the increase of the measured area, which are similar to the CMM measurement results with a range variation of 0.184 cm 2 , verifying the correctness and accuracy of the proposed method to a certain extent. The Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) of the measuring system is only 10.2%, and the range of the throat area from 10 NGVs measured by three operators is only 0.025 cm 2 , which means that this method can meet the engineering requirements.
